I'd like to say "I wish I could eat like you" but I already do. Everything but the molasses, which I'm thinking that you ate about 45g of sugar in that 1/4c, helps me loose weight. I don't count calories, I watch my carb intake. Mostly protein and fiber for me and good carbs in moderation, browns and whole grains. Although the oatmeal is probably a healthy way to gain a little, lotsa carbs but it is high in fiber. Add some more carbs to that meal for some gain and you'll also remain full a lil longer than 1/2hr. You probably don't want to be in an intense workout and become famished mid way, especially after you just ate prior. Just becareful of the high sugar, it's never good for anyone and you'll start to crave it more and more then what when your in the middle of the Antarctica? K

Insanity....shmanity!! It's only as insane as you let it or you let someone else make it. Dreams are not insane. What's insane is if you don't follow them when you can and you end up with those old age dreaded regrets. Remember, what you do you do for yourself with the benifit of inspiring others no matter how far you go. And while your out there, I'm sure you'll conjure your next dream. Life's a-tickin, you got this!!

I hit a quarter pounder, fries & quart (haha) of sweet tea from McD's yesterday. It was the first time I was able to close my calorie target. I'll do burritos, they don't tend to hit me so bad. Ugh.

Maybe not Big Macs but perhaps a daily visit to that tasty taco stand on the 101 for a mondo carne asada burrito with all the works (cheese, beans, guac, etc.)? Followed by a chocolate and peanut butter milkshake?

Giddy'up buttercup! You're seriously right that training in the sunshine of So Cal, dragging that tire for 60 min/day isn't going to get you to where you need to be. A lifestyle switcheroo is gonna be necessary. Pack it up and head up to your grandpa's in ID for a few months might be a good choice if it's possible.

Hi Aaron--My husband & I visited with you at the West Thumb and later on Christmas at Snow Lodge when you were having dinner. I hope you still get replies on these older blogs pages. I was impressed by your split and bleeding fingers. Mine do the same thing in winter. I found a product at Wind River Gear in Dubois, Wyoming that absolutely works and wanted to share it with you. It is called O'Keefe's Working Hands (says on the label "Guaranteed relief for dry hands that crack and split...and it's true) It's not greasy and really works. A toll-free number listed on package 800-275-2718...they'd be a great Antarctic sponsor, I think. If you can't find it...let me know and I'll send you some. Blessings on your journeys!! Best Regards, Bobbie

Very different winter this year so far. I remember something called a chinook when it melted the snow in winter. Causes problems with mush and then ice when it gets cold again. They used to say if you don't like the weather wait 5 minutes. Trying to be ready for the weather can be hard to do. Sometimes you just have to improvise.
Well the wolf didn't get you and you didn't freeze and it sound like it was a good trip. Glad you safe and sound. Uncle Tom
